Took a trip to explore the meaning of liberalism. Liberalism doesn't have a set definition but it is a diffuse concept comprising a number of equally diffused ideas about justice, ethics, private property, free market and so on. But are those ideas set in stones or it needs constant evolving to be relevant in the constantly evolving society.
In
the past threats to liberalism were more tangible, easy to identify like
the Hitler and the Nazi movement that led to the Holocaust and hence
easier to fight against. In the current times the threats are obscure
and does not have a face attached to it. The same countries that
welcomed the refugees from Auschwitz rejects the victims from Damascus.
Does that mean liberalism is yet another white privilege?
